okay... this is not a real journal entry...

this is just me cutting and pasting snippets of fluff from some fanfics.... don't ask why....

First is a snippet from Sanguis-Vinculum. In this story, they are accidentally bonded to each other and their feelings grow as the bond settles. I just love visuals of them spending time with each other and I just wanna soak up the love!

"Make yourself comfortable on the sofa. I have papers to grade." Snape started for his desk.

As he moved away, Harry felt strangely abandoned. "What if..." Harry trailed off. He didn't want to sound like a prat.

"What, if what?" Snape asked, waiting.

"What if you sat with me?" He held up a hand to forestall Snape's objections. "If we strain the bond by pulling apart, what if we try to ease it by being closer together."

For a moment, Snape was silent, considering. "It is certainly worth a try. We can't be in each other's company at all times. Come, sit down."

Sitting down, Harry rummaged through his bag and found his book. Snape gathered some papers from his desk before he sat down beside him, straight backed and stiff as a board.

Not quite what Harry had in mind. He opened the book and turned sideways, leaning against Snape's shoulder and side.

"What are you doing?" Snape's voice sounded strained, uncomfortable.

With a sigh, Harry glared at him. Why did Snape have to be so bloody difficult? "Don't you think that I can tell you're uncomfortable? Relax. I'm not going to bite you."

"Shouldn't I be the one who is reassuring you?" There was a touch of amusement in Snape's tone.

Harry started to relax. "I think that might be the trouble. You're trying to keep your distance from me."

"What would you have me do?"

"Just relax for now." Harry nestled closer, contentment washing over him. It felt so good to be near enough to soak up Snape's presence.

With a windy sigh, Snape settled an arm across Harry's chest from the side. "All right?"

"Good." Harry settled back against him and started to study.


And this is from Beyond Words... a wonderful fic where Voldemort curses Harry to be mute and Snape has to teach Harry sign language, legilimency, and telepathy and they become closer throughout the story. It's a very slow relationship growth so it's quite believable and not OOC.

“Dear all!” he said grandly, “We are all here to celebrate the power of love…”

Underneath the table, Harry tried to place his hand on Severus’s knee but received a sharp cuff on his knuckles in return. When Dumbledore came to the part about Harry’s muteness, Severus touched his pearl lightly.

“…until Tom Riddle, better known as Voldemort, cursed Harry Potter with his dying breath…”

Harry, refusing to give up, brushed his thigh bodly against Severus’s. Severus, without turning his head, resorted to a non-verbal spell which caused Harry to feel a severe pinch on his leg, making him instantly squeeze his legs back together. Dumbledore informed the school on how he had assigned Severus Snape to teach Harry, and how their resentments had given way to love.

“All those who claimed and claim that Gryffindors and Slytherins cannot be friends, or more – you may want to think again. But for now, don’t bully your brains into such exhausting activities – it is time for your stomachs to take over!”

He clapped, and food appeared on the tables.

Harry, in the meantime, was ignoring his lover steadfastly while people stared at him and Severus, whispering and nudging each other. A hand sneaked onto his knee; he slapped it away and glared at Severus.

'If you feel so ashamed of our love and think that it is indecent to show our affection in public-'

Severus kissed him fierily. Harry recovered from his surprise and kissed him back.

Dumbledore started applauding loudly. Ginny, Luna and Hagrid were the first to join in before most of the other students started applauding as well. On the other hand, a few students – not only Slytherins – were staring disgustedly at the couple.

McGonagall was polishing her spectacles even though they were perfectly clean while Professor Flitwick was craning his neck for a better view. The other teachers seemed to be suppressing smiles.

Finally, McGonagall tapped Severus with her wand.

“There are first-years in here,” she said pointedly.

So I finally go through the whole second season of Lois and Clark... woot!

I'll be going back and watching my fav episode again after this entry... 'Tempus Fugitive'... the time travel episode. As I watched it for the first time on DVD, I started to feel really nostalgic and as if I was a younin' again.

I used to have that episode on VHS and I would watch it over and over and over and over.... I had all the lines memorized. That was fun last night to listen to the lines and then start lip synching them as my memory would kick in. I also just LOVE listening to the dramatic way that Tempus speaks. It's so fun.

But as I was watching that episode, I realized that I'm actually old. Not old old... but when an elementary schooler looks at me, they'd think I'm old.

In the episode there is a little baby Clark Kent (because Tempus goes back in time to kill baby Superman). As I was watching this... I realized something. That little baby is 12 or 13 years old now. I was like... "Holy shit... has it really been that long since I used to sit and watch this on tv?"

OKay.... then I watched the Special Features.... interviews and stuff. OMG.... Dean Cain looks sooooo old... because, yeah, it has been over ten years since that second season actually played on ABC.

Dear God..... time goes by so fast and ya don't even realize it until you start thinking about it.




Hmm... I wonder if Laura still likes that show. I should see if she'd want to come over and watch sometime...

So... I spent the day watching the second season of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

And I got all excited and stuff because this season has all my favorite episodes in it... the one with Raquel Welch and the kryptonite lipstick, the one with Al Capone, and my very favoritest episode with H.G. Wells and the time machine...

It then occured to me that the second season of almost ANY show is usually the best. Out of all the television seasons I own on DVD... the second seasons of all those shows are my favorite. Interesting...

I guess it's when the writers are just beginning to feel comfortable with the characters and they go out on limbs and take all these risks and chances to see how far they can go without losing their audience and usually the writers settle down a bit with the third season.

I think it's all those risky... out on a limb episodes from second seasons that i love so much. Some episodes are almost so far from canon that it seems like a fanfic writer snuck into the group or something...

last night (it's 4am in the morning right now)... my nephew, Noah, was kidnapped... by his father.

Lindsay left Noah with a babysitter... and when she went back to pick him up, she was informed that Noah's dad picked him up. OKay... for those of you who are new to my flist, you might need a little history here.

History lesson: Lindsay (my sister) married Jodon. He abused (hitting, chasing with cars, that sort of thing) her and she almost lost Connor (she was pregnant at the time) one time. Anyways... she had Connor and he was nice to her for a while again and then he started to keep her locked in the trailer with no food and no phone. she got reeeallly skinny then. She left him for a while... eventually they both had restraining orders against each other... then dropped them and got back together. Then she got pregnant again. This time he was even worse. He tried to kill her once by strangling her... my dad went after him that time.
Anyways.... my sister finally smartened up and left him for real and filed real divorce. My parents have custody of Connor (because Lindsay coulnd't take care of him very well when she was with Jodon) and Lindsay has custody of Noah now and Jodon has NOTHING to do with this little baby. I think he saw him like... once.

So that's the history there. Jodon helped to create the baby and that's IT.

So when the babysitter told Lindsay that Jodon picked up Noah, she freaked. She called 911... oh gee.... it's Tomah. They informed her that they'd never dealt with a kidnapping before. Well and Amber Alert was put out and everything and everyone (who was in Tomah) was out looking for Jodon and Noah.

Jodon's stepmom finally heard from someone (maybe Jodon himself) and told my mom whwere she thought he might be. My mom called my dad and told the police. Jodon was hiding out at the roller rink (why? i don't know... he's an idiot).

When my dad got there, they were cuffing Jodon and my dad and Uncle Joe got Noah and brought him to Lindsay.

Turns out that the babysitter was a friend of Jodon's (it's a small town) and those two had planned the whole thing. to get Lindsay to let her babysit so that she could hand Noah off to Jodon. Sneaky fuckers, eh.

Jodon will be spending the weekend in jail until he can see the judge on Monday. I hope he goes to prison.

My youngest sister is freaked the fuck out and thinks he's going to blow up our house... so my family is getting a big ol' restraining order against him.

But... in the end... everything is FINE now. Baby Noah is home and safe and his fucker of a daddy is in jail. Noah's big brother, Connor, has no idea what the hell happened and he's happy that he got to stay up late and drink Dr. Pepper.

Needless to say... Noah won't be at a babysitter's any time soon...

Gah... I live in a Lifetime Movie.... but at least it's all over and I can say that now with a lighter heart...

last night...

this guy came into the store and as he was walking around and picking out his purchases, Jeremy pointed out to me that he was parked in a fire lane.... I do so love refusing service to those who park in the fire lane.

So I get the customer's attention and I'm like "Is that your car right there?" It is... duh... he's the only person there.

"Sir, you can't park there. I'll need you to move your car before I can ring you up."

"What? But I'll be quick."

"No, it's illegal to park there."

"Yer kidding. Just ring me up quickly."

"Sorry, it's the rules.

And then... oh I love this part.... he knocks his Mountain Dew at me (missed me, missed me!!) and growls "Take yer fuckin' fire lane."

And he stomps out to his car like a little baby and speeds off.

Then Jeremy and I start laughing because I love when shit like that happens.

Now... this guy could have just walked out and moved his car to a pump or something... but noooo... now he has to drive to a whole other store to buy his mountain dew. haha. idiot.

... i knew this was coming for a few weeks...
the monitor that my dad gave me for free from his office (he got a new one and gave me the old one) started blinking yellow every once in a while...

and then.... today it's gone yellow permanently.

it's really quite... icky.
it also makes it quite hard to work on photoshop... because how can i color if everything has a yellowish tint to it. ew.

oh well.... i guess instead of that scanner i wanted to buy, i'll have to buy a new monitor instead.

hmm... i need to get a scanner as soon as i pay off my most recent purchaces on my credit card.

that way i can start posting my little comic 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!!'. I think this little project is going to be quite fun.

I think I'll have to ask my friend for a little bit of help and/or advice though. I'm having trouble drawing my characters from different angles. I'm not that good of an artist... i just happened to have a funny idea for a comic and then ran with it.


OK.... a little fangirl squee... *squee!!!*.... season three of House starts tomorrow!!!

Yesterday I went MOA with Heidi, Sara, and Jenny.
We shopped for clothes and stuff and then we split off and they went home. I snuck on over to the apple store.

I bought myself a new ipod video (60gb)... it's white and it's big and it's beautiful!

I named it Xxptphhxxsfhg (pronounced 'Bob').

I've already shoved 21gb onto the thing.... including all of the Mac/PC ads that are out so far.

Well... that's all for now... I just wanted to get it out that I now have the new ipod and I'm all happy.


BTW... this means that Percy (ipod mini that Michelle gave to me) will now be passed on to Meggity. How exciting. Now all of nightshift has ipods.

I was on my way out the door to get some food today... and I noticed that the mail had come. So I paused and grabbed the mail... then I noticed it...

A big priority mail envelope with a return address to DisneyWorldTrivia.com. I squeed and I ripped it open (carefully) and I saw the Disney World Trivia Book Volume 2 peeking out at me... I pulled it out and then saw my lanyard at the bottom of the envelope. Yay!

I looked at the book and thought to myself "Wow... Princess Marion sure does have Lou's eyes. Cute." And then I opened the cover and saw my personalization.

Smushy... thoug I do love reading the smut. I'm just not all that good at writing it.

Probably 'When Love Takes You In'... I'd never gotten such a response before with my other stories.

Angst and Torture fics.... i get so into them that I cringe while I'm writing and I'm like "Aww... poor __whoever__...

Best... I like 'Ministering Angel'.
Worst... any 'N Sync and BSB fics that I wrote when I was a teenager.

Coulda been contenders? 'The Miracle'... I was pretty proud of that fic, but there wasn't as big of a fanbase for Newsies out there so not as many readers.

Strengths: apparently I can describe actions and emotions pretty well... OR I can write good dialogue

Weaknesses:I can't write good descriptions and good dialoge at the same time. I always have a story/section that's all good dialoge and crappy descriptions or good descriptions and crappy dialoge. I have a hard time blending them and making that transition.

Dirty Little Secrets? I have a small fetish for my favorite guys getting hurt/sick/angsty... brain injuries for the win. Amnesia, aphasia, anything. torture those guys becuase it's so cute.
